A Public Face that Attracts
God has provided us a unique gospel opportunity as a downtown church. When we bought our building, we inherited two rental spaces. Our tenants, Hanks and Iron Hand Barbershop, both decided to relocate to larger and more convenient locations for their businesses within the last 8 months. This provides us a chance to utilize our building in a more effective, attractional, and missional way than ever before.
We want to renovate these two rooms into dynamic, fruitful, and thriving ministry spaces where we can host events for all our ministries, launch new ministries to reach our neighbors, and create an attractional face that draws people in and helps revitalize our city.

How to Give
You can give to this project online, in person, or via mail. Mail checks to Redemption Church, 1021 4th Ave, Huntington, WV, 25701.
Be sure to note Capital Campaign in the memo line of a check, or in the "Fund" drop down menu online.
The Vision
The goal of this project is to create environments for community, discipleship, development, and reach more people in the Tri-State with the gospel. We plan for both interior spaces to be filled with ministry opportunities, as seen below, and open up new opportunties our membership brings forward now that we have these opportunities!
The former barbershop space will be perfect for small group gatherings, including.
- Gospel Communities
- Triads
- Book Studies
- Youth Group Discussion
- College Bible Study
- Counseling
- Nursing Mother's Room
For the Hanks space, we envision this for mid-sized groups, depending on the seating arrangement, from 8-10 up to 45 people. These include:
- Men's and Women's Breakfasts
- Midweek Gatherings
- Potlucks
- Hospitality Opportunites
- Evangelism Events - Trivia Night, Open Mic, Game Night, etc.
- Youth Group and College
- Co-Working Space
- Baby/Bridal Showers
A Public Face that Attracts
Although we've been in our current location in downtown Huntington for over ten years, much of the city doesn't know we're here. We have spent years creating dynamic and beautiful interior spaces for worship, but from the outside it's hard to tell we're any different than the other abandoned buildings on our block.
We want to create a public face that attracts, draws in, and lets everyone who passes know that the gospel is being proclaimed in the heart of downtown Huntington.

A Gathering Place that Equips
Though we have a beautiful space for our worship gatherings, little ministry takes place in our building through the week, largely due to lack of effective spaces. We want to create warm, inviting ministry spaces where we can be active in the city and in our ministry all through the week to host bible studies, Gospel Communities, triads, youth ministry, college ministry, men's and women's ministry, and even launch new ministry initiates to reach our neighbors.
This is to be a gathering place that disciples. Not just a social club, but a place we were can gather together to learn, grow, be in community, grow in the faith, and be sent out on mission.

The Ask
In order to meet all these goals, we hope to raise $300,000. This number includes renovating the two rooms into vibrant ministry spaces, renovating the building's exterior, creating a new single point of entry, signage, furniture, and addressing several safety and security concerns.
We’re asking that our church consider a sacrificial gift, either one time or pledge toward this project. Take time to pray about how you would like to be involved, and please let us know if you have additional questions.
Get Involved
There are three ways for you to get involved: Pray, give, and share. Pray, because God loves to hear and answer prayer. Give, because your investment allows us to fulfill this mission. Share, because there are other people you may know who would love to get in on this.
